1. Some Americans opposed the US's involvement in the Vietnam War by rebelling agaisn't what their parents had taught them and rejecting their lifestyles. They joined movements like the counterculture movement, and the antiwar movement. Young Americans dropped out of college, and went agaisn't the idea of a traditional family by living toether in communes and adapting a more natural look by growing their hair long and looking the least thet could like their parents. Experimenting with drugs and listening to new tpyes of music was also a popular way to protest the war.

2. African Americans unitedthrough civil rights groups and organized protests and used nonviolent tactics like sit-ins, boycotts, marches and toher non-violent methods to protest and reach their goals for equality. However, some African Americans saw that peaceful protests weren't helping as much as they should have, so radical gropus like the Black Panthers were formed. Both the moderate and radical protestors agreed on black power and advised African Americans to become independent in such waays as economically, by starting their owns buisness and shopping in black-owned stores. Pride in the African American race and heritage was also encouraged. By uniting as a group, they coudl fight for their rights more easily. However, some angered African Americans did turn to violent to be heard. By starting riots and fires, they took out their anger cuase by discrimination and poverty. African Americans used many different tacttics to fight for equality.
